
Memorial Day afternoon at 3:03pm Clayton along with mutual aid units from the Citizens Hose Co. of Smyrna, Townsend Vol. Fire Co., Volunteer Hose Co. of Middletown, Leipsic Vol. fire Co, American Legion Ambulance and Kent County Paramedics were dispatched for the residental structure fire in the 1800 blk of Clayton Delaney Rd. Command 45 w/AC Conrad, Engine 45 w/6, Tower 45 w/6, Squad 45 w/3, Rescue 45 w/5 and Brush 45 w/4 made the response from Clayton. Crews arrived to find a single wide trailer and deteched storage building with heavy fire showing. The Engine Co's established a water supply and placed 3 handlines in service while the Special Services handled the searches and opened up for the Engine Co's. The fire was brought under control in about 45 minutes. Crews spent another hour completing overhaul. The fire is being investigated by the Delaware State Fire Marshals Office.
