Monday afternoon 1/20 at 14:32 the station along with mutual aid from the Citizens Hose Co. of Smyrna, Townsend Vol. Fire Co., Community Fire Company of Millington Md., Hartly Vol. Fire Co., American Legion Ambulance and Kent County Paramedics were alerted for the structure fire at 311 Slow and Easy Dr. off Millington Road. Command 45 w/Lt Wynne, Engine 45 w/5, Tower 45 w/4, Squad 45 w/5, Rescue 45 w/5 and Brush 45 w/4 made the response from Clayton. Chief Moorhead who was in the area in his pov arrived ahead of the fire units and reported a manufactor home with heavy throughout. Crews arrived established a water supply and stretch 2 handlines for fire attack. Because of the amount of fire, the roof starting to collapse just after arrival crews used a defensive attack to bring the fire under control in about 30 minutes. Mutual aid units assisted with extinquishment, water supply and over haul. The Delaware State Fire Marshals Office is investigating. Lt. Wynne had the Clayton Command. Clayton units were back in quarters around 5pm. There were no injuries to civilian or firefighters. Units responding; Command 45, Engines 45, Engines 44-2, 44-3, KCMD E-2, E-26, Sqd 45, Tower 45, Ladder 44, Rescue 45, Tankers 26 & 51, Brush 45, Ambulance 64, KM6, FM-15 (Sipple).
