LADDER AND ENGINE GO TO CHESWOLD FOR GARAGE FIRE

Thursday evening at 6:55 pm the Ladder and Engine along with Tanker and Engine 44 and EMS units were dispatched to assist Station 43 Cheswold on the non residential structure fire at 61 Brenford Road.  Quint 45 w/4, Capt. Jonathan Burnett and Engine 45-3 w/7, Asst. Chief Jeff Lightcap arrived to find 43 units on scene with 2 lines stretched on a 2 car garage with heavy fire throughout.  The crew from Quint 45 assisted engine companies while the crew from 45-3 checked the single family home which was next to the garage.  The fire was contained to the detached garage.  Units operated on scene for a little over 2 hours.  Deputy Chief Tucker Dempsey had the Command.  Duty Engine Squad 53 also made the response.  Units responding; Command 43, Engines 43-3, 43-2, 45-3, 44-3, 44-4, Rescue 43, Squad 53, Quint 45, Tanker 44, EMS units from 43, 51 & 64, KM6, Fm-15 (Sipple), FM-19 (Billings), DELDOT.  Photo's courtesy Joe Jones.
