COMPANY TRAINS WITH A NEW VEHICLE STABILIZATION TOOL
Monday, July 1, 2024

On Monday July 1, 2024 members of the Clayton Fire Company trained on a new, but simple tool to assist in vehicle stabilization. The tie back system was introduced at training with 25 members receiving training on this new tool. It is a simple system to allow quick and easy stabilization of vehicles that are involved in an accident and are resting on their side. The system allows the use of jacks that are already in the tool inventory with a set of straps that connect into the vehicle and will use one of the fire vehicles on scene to assist. The straps are connected to the car and then connected to the fire vehicle and tension is pulled using a ratchet. The vehicle is pulled against the jacks and the vehicle s stable. “Thinking outside the box is needed sometimes at any scene, with this tool it offers many new ways make a vehicle stable stated Training Officer Captain Tim Conrad”. Training was offered on Tuesday for members not able to attend the Monday evening class.
