DUMPSTER FIRE TIES UP COMPANY FOR THE AFTERNOON

An early afternoon dumpster fire tied up the company for a couple hours.  Wednesday afternoon March 29th ay 12:33pm the station was dispatched for a dumpster on fire on Betterton Drive in the Green Hill Farms Development.   Command 45 w/ Deputy Chief Alex Carrow made the response followed closely by Engines 45-4 w/5, Lt. Jonathan Burnett and 45-3 w/5 Chief Wes Davis.  Units arrived to find a large roll  off type dumpster on fire.  Crews used two 1 3/4″ hand lines to extinguish the fire.  Rescue 45 w/5, Assistant Chief Ray Johnson was called to the scene to assist with manpower.  The dumpster company was later called to the scene to dump the dumpster to extinguish the remaining fire.  Units were back in quarters around 2:30pm.  Deputy Chief Carrow had command.  Clayton had 28 members respond on the call.  Units responding Command 45, Engines 45-3, 45-4, R-45.
