GAS LEAK CLAYTON AVE AND WEST STREET

Tuesday afternoon at 1:47pm the station was dispatched for the gas leak outside at Clayton Ave & West St. Construction workers had struck a service line to a residence. Engine 45-3 w/5, Chief Carrow, Engine 45-4 w/3, Firefighter Steve Hudson and Rescue 45 w/5, Capt. Wes Davis made the response. Crews evacuated several homes and a doctors office in the area as a precaution. Chesapeake Utilities arrived on scene within 10 minutes of dispatch and was able to quickly secure the leak.
