RESIDENTAL STRUCTURE FIRE

Thursday evening at 20:15 the station along with Station 44 were dispatched for the residental structure fire at 1872 Blackbird Forrest Road.  The caller was reporting smoke in their attic, with reports of smoke in the residence the call was upgraded to a working alarm by the Duty Officer adding Engine 4 & 24, Engine & Tanker 26, Ambulance 64 and KM6.  Command 45 w/Assistant Chief Jeff Lightcap, Engine 45-2 w/6, Chief Alex Carrow, Quint 45 w/4, Captain Jonathan Burnett arrived to find a one story single family dwelling with nothing evident from the exterior.  The crew from 45-2 secured a water supply and stretched a handline while the crew from Quint 45 checked the crawl space and assisted the interior crews with checking for the source.  Engine 45-3 w/5, Firefighter Jason Sacco, Rescue 45 w/3, Deputy Chief John Pridemore and Ladder 44 arrived behind the first units and assisted crews on scene on scene.  The source of the burning odor was believed to be coming form a ceiling fan.  There was no damage to the residence.  Assistant Chief Lightcap had the Clayton Command.  Units responding Command 45, Engines 45-2, 45-3, 44-3, 24, Quint 45, Ladder 44, Tanker 24, 26, Rescue 45, B-64, KM6, Engine 51-2 covered Station 45.  Pictures courtesy Joe Jones and Mike carroll.
