LADDER AND ENGINE GO TO EARLY MORNING HOUSE FIRE IN TOWNSEND

Thursday ,morning at 3:13am the station was dispatched for the engine and ladder to assist NCC Station 26 with a residental structure fire in the 400 block of Main St. in Townsend.  Quint 45 w/5 Assistant Chief Jeff Lightcap and Engine 45-2 w/5, Deputy Chief John Pridemore arrived to find MOT units with serveral lines in service with fire in the attic of a 2 story house.  The crew from Quint 45 assisted with the searches, threw ground ladders and opened the roof while the crew from the engine assisted with opening up for the other engine companies.  The fire was brought under control in about 45 inutes.  Photo's courtesy Joe Jones and Jeff Lightcap.  Companies responding on the call, Townsend, Volunteer Hose Co of Middletown, Odessa, Port Penn, Clayton, Leipsic, Delaware City, Newark, American Legion Ambulance, NCC Paramedics, Delaware State Fire Marshals Office.
