BOTH ENGINES AND LADDER GO TO SMYRNA FOR HOUSE FIRE

Friday afternoon at 1:31pm the station along with Ambulance 64 and Kent County Paramedics were dispatched to assist Station 44 on the house fire at 996 S Dupont Blvd. in Smyrna.  Quint 45 w/4 Chief Alex Carrow and 45-2 w/5, Assistant Chief Jeff Lightcap arrived along with Smyrna units to find a 2 story single family home with heavy fire showing from the attached garage with extension into the residence.  Crews placed several handlines in service.  Engine 45-3 w/6, Firefighter Kevin Crews also responded along with Tanker and Squad 53 and EMS assets. The fire was brought under control in about 45 minutes.
