Kayleigh Reed the daughter of Clayton Director Julie Kelchner was awarded the President Award for being named as the Associate Member of the Year at the annual banquet. Kayleigh has been a member for just a bit over two years and has proven herself as a very active and involved member of the company. Associate members do not fight fires, they assist with fund raising events, clean ups at the station, fire prevention, and many other non-fire related events. About 30 years ago, the Clayton Fire Company created the Associate Member program. This is a way for those who wanted to serve their community without becoming firefighters and still make a meaningful impact.
Those members are the backbone of many of our efforts, assisting with fundraising, hall rentals, training room functions, uniform details, and even helping return apparatus to service after alarms.
Tonight, we will recognize one of those members who has truly embraced this role and has become a valuable asset to our company.
This individual joined just over two years ago and has been consistently active. This member has helped with countless fundraising events, miscellaneous projects, and even assisting our Vice President with documenting fund drive returns and preparing deposits. Their dedication and reliability have not gone unnoticed.
