Tonight, we have the distinct honor of recognizing a leader whose service and dedication have left a lasting mark on the Clayton Fire Company.

The Chief Emeritus title is reserved for those who have not only led this department but helped shape it. This Man did exactly that. Through his years of leadership, he guided this company with integrity, commitment, and an unwavering focus on serving both his firefighters and the community.

Chief Carrow led by example, earning respect through his experience, fairness, and steady leadership. His influence can still be seen today—in the values of this department, the traditions we uphold, and the firefighters who continue to benefit from his guidance and mentorship.

To all, this title is a lasting symbol of our gratitude for your service, leadership, and dedication to the Clayton Fire Company. Your legacy will continue to inspire those who follow.

This member joined the company on 06/12/1979, received his life membership 12/17/1994, Currently holds the position of fire recorder, and board of director, and is still one of our most active members after nearly 47 years of service. His son is following in his footsteps, coming in as our president next year. You can find this man behind the scenes double checking all of our reports, and cussing all of us for our mistakes, and completing his sons reports for him. This man was the fire chief when I was voted in to the company and has been a large influence towards the company and its operations, and the way that we operate to this day.

This man will now be recognized with a group of 5 other men, including his father.

On behalf of the officers and members of the Clayton Fire Company, I present the title of Chief Emeritus to William R. Carrow II.
